We have had many happy holidays in Gourdon, our next will be in June 2005. It's a long way up there from our home in Cheltenham, but well worth it for the peace & tranquility, the lovely fresh fish & the friendliness of you all. Glad we found your web site it brings Gourdon a bit nearer.

I was just loocking for some information about Johnshaven whwn i found your page. The reasen for this was that, maney years ago, my wife's grandfather had a lobster farm at Kvitsøy, north of Stavanger - Norway. He was doing some buisnes with a man in Johnshaven named Murray Mc Bay, and i vas just vondering if this company, Murray Mc Bay & Co, stil exist.

Nice to see Gourdon on the map. We have spent many a summer (and parts of the winter) in Gordon Raes caravan Park - escaping the bustle of life in West Yorkshire. The place was magical - very peaceful when you wanted it to be or lively (the harbour bar) The people were all so friendly and welcoming . The place is full of characters some of whom we still call on when we pass on our way up to Cromarty.

My brother John signed the guestbook in May and said what | was thinking. I also enjoyed the poem very much and can remember some of the things from my childhood spent in Gourdon in the 1950's. Our mother is Catherine Souter and Roy Souter is our uncle. Lizzie and Roy are much loved and I hope to see them later this year on my annual return to Gourdon.
Keep up the good work John, it is very much appreciated.

Hi John
My family also trekked from Scotland to Ireland to Canada and then things got really interesting. Think explosion of the gene pool. Enjoyed your paintings very much and find it interesting the number of people I know within our group of Ritchie's who are very artisically adept.
