I am interested in the Mowat side of the family. My grandfather, William Paton Mowat, who is 97 this year was from Gourdon. His Uncle(?), Old Jeems, built the life boat that now stands in the small museum in Gourdon. Please e-mail me.
Many thanks.

Hi. Sorry I have only skimmed through your site. I have been trying to trace my family tree. On your site you trace Ritchie familys from glasgow and mine is too.Glasgow/Kilbarachan, Renfrewshire back to part way in 1770. Archibald Ritchie, if you know anything i would welcome hearing it!!
Many thanks

In relation to Brian's comments below....I know I for one and my mother Ena Davidson - would absolutely love to be sitting in the Gourdon pub with all the locals eating wonderful Scottish food. Unfortunately we can not - and for all of those you are overseas at this time of year - the yearning for home is sometimes very overwhelming. To see kith and kin and to be hame.

John, my father and his brothers used to spend summers in Gourdon during the war years. They were guests of Joe and Ina Watt whose brother and his wife stayed in Renfrew (Alec and Betty). Do you sell prints of your paintings? I would like to thank my uncle who has fond memories of his time in Gourdon for help that he has recently given me and this would be an excellent gift. Looking forward to your reply. Many thanks, Tom
