Hello again John, I've recently retired so now have time to do a
bit of family research. My Dad was Charlie Ritchie, son of
Valentine and Isabella Lownie. Our trees seem to join up at our
GGGParents, David and Ann. Good to see email from "Paddy"
Flannagan that I use to knock about with as a teenager along
with Ian M Ritchie and Alex Ritchie fae Gourdon. I was a Johnner
douper"! Cheers, Ian O. Ritchie |

Fit like John (is it still Rover?) Congratulations on a first
class site. I was back in Gurden the day, sadly, for a funeral,
if truth is telt its been ower lang since I've been here. I was
pointed to your site by Margaret Gowans Mother of Shona who also
has signed your guest book I see. I was at school with your
sister Ann and I see several names there that I have not seen
for a very long time. Great site keep up the good work.
Regards

Dear John, I enjoyed your website. Well done! I would be
particularly interested to hear about yor memory of the term "deddie".
Since I retired from teaching I have been researching the use
Scots among schoool children but have also been tracking usage
of the term"deddie" which surprisingly exists and is still
current in two main locations - Gourdon and just south of the
Broch, in Cairnbulg/Inverallochy and St Combs.! It was good to
see the term used in connection with the "Deddie Jock" poem |

Hi there, I am starting to trace my family history, perhaps you
know my gran, Lizzie Gray, her mother was Mary Fotheringham from
Bervie and she died in the late 30s. I didnt see her in your
tree, but she must be a close branch?
I love the site, I too have many happy memories of Gourdon when
I was little. |

I have been waiting for years now for the Fotheringham family
tree that you said you could provide me with. Maybe you do not
read this site any more?
